Last year I got the lucky opportunity to travel to Japan and since then, I have be attracted to, obsessed with and interested in all things Japanese.  It is no surprise I took my interest to the web and started looking for Japanese blogs.  I have stumble on a few that I frequent including "Our Adventures in Japan"  Kat's blog is a feast for the eyes...and her writing style is just as delicious.  All this background just to say she had a meme on her blog and invited others to join in.  I love a meme as I use them for inspiration in the art journal.  If you read my blog and you would like to participate in the meme, please do!  {Link back to me if you do.}

2.  Worked at Waxie Maxies (a real record store.)
3.  Color Guard coach.
4.  Sold ads for the Cougar Pause (college newspaper.)
5.  Nanny for adorable little ones.

7.  IT Manager at the Entrepreneurs' Organization.

I always find the month of October to be refreshing. A new start. My new year. It is my plan to update everyday this month. There is a lot going on. My move to Charleston, SC. The new house. Being close to family. Art. John. Bella. Life.

Today I helped my Mom pack up my childhood home into a POD.  A place, the only place that I truly get a good nights sleep. This is the place that I grew-up too fast and the home I couldn't wait to get out of. Now, I don't want to leave. I want to stay forever listening to the sounds of my Mom bounding up and down the hardwood stairs. The gentle breeze of the oak and maple trees in the summer, the familiar smell of walking into the house through the garage door.  I think I will miss that smell the most.
You see, you can't smell a picture or a video.
I will just have to take a big breath in tomorrow evening before I step out the door forever. 

I wonder if this house will miss us too? After all we have lived here for 20 some years...we are the only people this house knew. Tomorrow will be new dreams, new places, new memories. Leaving this house means that my family will be together again and hopefully this familiar smell is really my Mom's love.

Goodbye Lost Creek Court. Life was better because you were a part of it.
